Take a Little Trip

Hey Mom, look at me! Gonzaga Basketball Player seen at "drug" party

Recently, around the midnight hour, two 20 something Gonzaga basketball players, were driving around outside of Spokane, Washington. The car they chose to drive that night lacked tail lights, but they didn't care. Yeah so what it was dark out, who needs lights, especially when you are a successful D-1 basketball player. The police ofcourse pulled over the car because its tail lights were not working. Officers smelled marijuana and searched the car.

“It was close to midnight,” Officer Campbell said. “They needed to have their lights on.”

So upon search of the car, the fuzz also found...........psychedelic mushrooms. Yeah man, 'shrooms.......ooops!

Shocking News! Drugs are common at College

Here is my take: Neither of these drugs are performance enhancers (at least not on the basketball court, but for mind expansion, they are totally awesome), thus I am fine with letting them play basketball again. However, its everything else that bothers me, driving a car without lights (these are good D-1 basketball players, don't they get free new cars?), traveling with drugs, being on scholarship and putting everything in jeopardy. For that, there is no excuse. Additionally one of these two jokers was Canadian....how typical.

Check out Gonzaga's Drug Policy:

From DeadSpin
The unviersity's drug policy, if you're wondering, is sort of vague. "Documented violations of illegal possession, consumption, provision, or sale of narcotics or drugs, or possession of paraphernalia, may result in disciplinary sanctions from the University and/or referral to law enforcement officials." Very stern. "We won't like it when you smoke the reefer, and we might also do something about it. If we have to.
