sorry boys, Madonna was more important to Rock music than you were.....Another year, another disappointment. The so-called "Rock and Roll" hall of fame, has again shamed itself as an institution that favors 'pop'ularity over talent. This years inductees are:
Madonna - pop star..no doubt, rock star..not even close
John Mellencamp
The Dave Clark Five
The Ventures
Lenard Cohen
Here is a short list of who was again missed...you decide for yourself if you think I am right or wrong:
Rush
Yes
Genesis
Stevie Ray Vaughn
Dire Straits
Peter Gabriel (solo)
Each of the above 6, made massive amounts of incredible music, have legions of fans, and have sold millions of tickets over the past 30 years. They are widely recognized as best in class. Rush alone, say what you will about Geddys voice, are arguably one of the most talented rock trios of all time. Click here to read a list of Rush accolades.
I go over this every year..why it bothers me, you may ask. Because, I crave authenticity, and when something as wonderful as the R and R H of F is ....I have been there, its quite amazing....is so shallow and ignorant in who it deems to represent Rock music, well that just makes me sad. Almost as sad as how much James Dolan and Isiah Thomas are destroying my favorite basketball team.

Madonna deserves to be in the R&R HoF, no doubt about it. Yes, your faves do too, but for many it's not neal pert all the time
