SO I am a bit on the busy side of things today...quick thoughts and notes.
- Barclays Bank is dirty - as previously reported on WWCD, British (not Brooklyn) owned Barclays Bank, has paid an enormous sum for the naming rights to the Nets new arena in downtown Brooklyn. Did you know that these foreigners are also knee deep in blood money? Yes, the British bank was founded on the slave trade, collaborated with the Nazis and did business with South Africa’s apartheid government. Talk about neighborhood relations, in the cultural melting pot known as Brooklyn, USA. More news here.
- The Knicks got waxed by the Heat last night despite Dwayne Wade and Shaq sitting out. Additionally it seems like Stephon Marbury is hurt. Yaaaaay Knicks!
- Check out Waxploitation's 3rd annual Charity Auction for Sudan, buy something huh, do a little good for once in a while. Clyde would....
- For some obvious reason I want to go this show:
Drummer Adam Deitch first made a name playing in Lettuce and later spent a few years on the road with John Scofield. Lately the versatile drummer has tried his hand at hip-hop with increased regularity, recording with everyone from Talib Kweli to J-Live. On February 8 Adam Deitch Project will back hip-hop icon Slick Rick for a performance at New York’s Knitting Factory. The Adam Deitch Project will provide live beats over Slick Rick’s lyrics.
