Good Will and Good Holidays

jolly old st. nick wants to park your car

Over the past few days I've been astonished at the goodwill of my xmas observant co-workers, who shower me with more candy and cake then one could possibly need at this point of year. I have no idea why they feel so charitable at this time of year, but I don't question it.

Anyway, charity is my topic of the day, as I just came across something cool. So these former hedge fund kids, decided to get away from their life of greed, and instead focus themselves on doing good full time. They came up with an idea to research charities, and then let us know which ones are truly most effective, and truly doing the most good. They research these charity organizations much like they would a hedge fund investment. If you are like me you want to know whats up with your hard earned money when you give it away. So thanks to these guys, you can stop thinking about that, and research those groups and take suggestions from their site. I love this idea. These two were featured in the New York Times, their site is call GiveWell.net. Check it out, and instead of handing out brownies all day long, maybe you could save that money and give it away to someone who is actually hungry.
